About Us
BESCA facilitates cross-border collaboration, attracts investments, and promotes policies that support the development of renewable energy in the Black Sea region.
Our story
BESCA – The Black Sea Energy Cooperation Association – was founded to address a critical opportunity: transforming the Black Sea region into a cornerstone of Europe’s renewable energy future.
The region holds exceptional potential with vast wind and solar resources, a strategic geographic position at the intersection of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and growing momentum for energy security and diversification. Yet this potential remains largely untapped due to fragmented approaches and limited cross-border cooperation.
BESCA bridges this gap by connecting energy leaders, investors, and institutions across Romania, Turkey, and the wider Black Sea region. With Romania positioned as the EU gateway, we facilitate collaboration, attract investment, and advocate for policies that enable the region’s renewable energy transition.
